CDTI Jaipur kicks off the National Hackathon ‘SHIELD 1.0’.

CDTI Jaipur formally inaugurated the two-day national hackathon “Shield 1.0 – Smart Hackathon for Intelligence, Enforcement, Law and Defence” on Monday. The primary goal of the event on December 29th and 30th is to develop technology-driven, effective solutions for the contemporary challenges faced by intelligence and law enforcement agencies.

Deputy Director, NCRB, New Delhi, Shri Prashun Gupta, was present as the chief guest in the inaugural session of the program. In his address, he underlined the importance of data analytics and AI in modern policing and law enforcement. He encouraged participants to create solutions that are advanced in technology. Moreover, they should be practical and ethically safe when applied in real-world scenarios.

Director CDTI Dr Amandeep Singh Kapoor said that through this hackathon, cyber experts, developers and innovative students from across the country have gathered on one platform. This event focuses on critical issues, including Digital Forensics, Cyber Crime Prevention, Artificial Intelligence, and Surveillance Intelligence. Furthermore, it aims to develop advanced systems that enhance India’s internal security and policing capabilities. Thus making them globally competitive and stronger.     ​

CDTI Jaipur Director Dr Kapoor welcomed all the guests and shared the concept of Shield 1.0. He stated that the primary goal of this hackathon is to transform the creative ideas of the youth into scalable models in the security and defence sectors. As special guests, Dr Meenakshi Tripathi of MNIT Jaipur and cyber expert Mr Yogesh Rao also expressed their views. They emphasise the importance of innovation and indigenous technological development.      

Immediately following the inauguration ceremony, technical sessions and coding rounds commenced, highlighting the enthusiasm and skills of students from diverse institutes eager to demonstrate their abilities. Over the course of two days, this brainstorming session will create effective technical models. Furthermore, these models will bridge academic knowledge and the operational needs of security agencies. Thus making a significant contribution to national security.
