Clashes in Maldives Parliament

MPs from pro-government parties and opposition members came face to face over the approval of four members in Muizzu’s cabinet. Maldives Parliament approves only one cabinet member out of four.

According to local media reports, parliament voted to refuse to sanction Housing Minister Ali Haider Ahmed, Islamic Minister Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed and Attorney General Ahmed Usham. At the same time, Economic Minister Mohammad Sayeed narrowly escaped and was approved. Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu made the formal request for approval of his cabinet on November 20, two days after taking office.

Parliament was scheduled to vote on the cabinet on December 18, but the original report of the government monitoring committee was rejected. Parliament convened a meeting on Sunday to vote on the committee’s new report, which was passed on 30 December. But just before Sunday’s vote, the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) announced parliamentary immunity for four members of Muizzu’s cabinet. Decided to stop the clearance and issued a three-line red whip against them. MDP has the majority in Parliament.

The move triggered clashes between pro-government and opposition MPs, disrupting the parliamentary sitting proceedings. The long-pending vote finally took place on Monday afternoon and Parliament rejected Haider, Shaheem and Usham. Haider was rejected by a vote of 46-24. Usham was rejected by a vote of 44-24 and Shaheem by 31-30. However, Sayeed narrowly got approval with a vote of 37-32.

Rajasthan Government orders removal of retired employees still serving.

Rajasthan Government orders were issued to remove the employees serving in the different departments even after retirement. On the instructions of the Rajasthan government, the Autonomous Government Department issued orders to remove the employees serving even after retirement. But many departments, corporations and universities are kind to retired employees.

Retired personnel are working in good positions in Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation. In the corporation, these employees work in posts ranging from administrative officers to private secretaries of officers. While many work as consultants. But citing a shortage of personnel, Roadways is taking the services of these retirees. Furthermore, there is a shortage of about 12 thousand personnel on the roadways. Recruitment has not been done on these posts of various cadres. The same is the condition of the health department. Here the retired personnel have not been removed even after the order.

Why Rajasthan Government issue this order

If sources are to be believed, crores of rupees were being spent every month on retired employees and officers during the previous Congress government. When they were investigated, it came to light that the purpose for which they were kept was not being accomplished. This was discussed only after the first review meeting with the UDH Minister to remove retired employees and officers who were unnecessarily engaged.

Now their services are being terminated by issuing orders. Furthermore, during the previous government, a large number of retired officers and employees were deployed. They were deployed in the name of consultants in many bodies including UDH, DLB and JDA.

Instructions have been issued to terminate the services of retired employees working at Jaipur City Transport Services Limited (JCTSL). It is noteworthy that JCTSL has retired employees working in offices and flying squads. After the Rajasthan Government orders, services on deputation will be terminated.

Earlier, the services of retired employees and officers working in the bodies under the Urban Development and Health Governance Department through consolidated remuneration, contract, pay-minus pension or any other means after retirement have been terminated. On the instructions of UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, both departments have issued a joint order. It is also written in the order that a compliance report should be sent.

Bihar Chief Minister took an Oath

Nitish Kumar Resigned as Chief Minister to become the next Chief Minister

Nitish Kumar resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar today at around 11:30 AM. The Governor accepted the resignation and deputed him as the Acting CM. This is been confirmed in a post by Raj Bhawan Bihar on X.

After coming out of Raj Bhawan Nitesh Kumar declared this in front of the media about his resignation to Governor Rajendra Arlekar. Talking about RJD, the party has a total of 79 MLAs in the assembly. Whereas from India Bloc, together with Congress and Left parties, this number reaches 114. Meaning 8 away from the majority mark. Congress has 19 seats and the Left has 16 seats. Hence they have to put efforts into forming the government.

French President Emmanuel Macron will Visit Jaipur Today
French President Emmanuel Macron will visit Jaipur the pink city of India today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will welcome him at Jantar Mantar with hospitality full of Rajasthani culture. Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana was launched yesterday just after the ceremony of Pran Pratishtha and the inauguration of Ayodhya Ram Ma ndir. Prime Minister Modi launched this scheme targeting to installation of roof-top solar panels on 1 crore houses.

The first decision I have taken after returning from Ayodhya is that our government will launch “Pradhanmantri Suryodaya Yojana” with the target of installing rooftop solar on 1 crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the people with low income and middle class but will also make India self-reliant in the field of energy”.

Chabahar Port Project Agreement between India and Iran
The Chabahar Port Project is close to an agreement between India And Iran. During Foreign Minister Jaishanker’s visit to Tehran, he held extensive discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Chabahar port and North-South connectivity.

Amidst the tension with Pakistan, Iran has made preparations to defeat it on the diplomatic front also. Recently during Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar’s visit to Iran, both the countries have come close to an agreement on this ambitious Chabahar Port project. The issue of construction of this port has been pending between the two countries for a long time. It came into limelight in 2017 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tehran.

India has finalized the Chabahar Agreement at a time when the Middle East is going through great turmoil and relations between Iran and Pakistan are tense.
