Rajasthan election 2023
BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) brainstormed the list of candidates for Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh for about three hours on Sunday night.
The meeting was held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, National President JP Nadda and election committee members and prominent leaders of Rajasthan.
A total of 65 seats including strong and weak seats of Rajasthan were discussed.
According to informed sources, an agreement was reached on tickets for 45 seats. The meeting for Rajasthan continued till 11:30 p.m.
According to sources, the list of candidates for the seats for which consent has been reached can be released after Prime Minister Modi’s election tour of Rajasthan on Monday and Thursday.
An idea also came up in the meeting that the lists should be declared after Pitru Paksha.
Round of meetings continued throughout the day
Before the meeting of the Central Election Committee and Parliamentary Board in Delhi, top leaders of the state BJP kept doing homework on political mathematics throughout the day on Sunday.
In the morning, state election in-charge Pralhad Joshi sat with several leaders and brainstormed on the seats that were to be discussed in the Central Election Committee.
There was a gathering of leaders of Rajasthan at Joshi’s residence. State President CP Joshi, Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, in-charge Arun Singh and co-in-charge Vijaya Rahatkar were also present in the meeting.
After this meeting, there was a long consultation with National President JP Nadda. Here names of the candidates of BJP’s first list were finalized.
