Tensions are flaring once more in the South China Sea.

Maritime disputes across the vast South China Sea have ratcheted up in recent years as an increasingly assertive China militarizes disputed islands and confronts its regional rivals over their competing claims in the strategically important and resource-rich waterway.

The South China Sea dispute is a series of maritime and island claims between several sovereign states in the Indo-Pacific region. The countries involved are:

China, Brunei, Taiwan, The Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia.

The countries have been disputing territory in the South China Sea for centuries, but tension has grown in recent years. The sea is a crucial trade route, with over 21% of global trade, amounting to $3.37 trillion, transiting through these waters in 2016.

The sea is estimated to have 11 billion barrels of untapped oil and 190 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. China’s sweeping claims of sovereignty over the sea have antagonized the other countries.

The most active claimants are Vietnam and the Philippines. Vietnam bases its current claims on 17th-century maps. In 2016, the arbitral tribunal ruled in favour of the Philippines on most of its submissions.

The origins and development of the countries’ respective claims and the development of international law as it relates to the South China Sea are complicated, confusing, and often poorly understood.

Inauguration of Kota Dusshera Mela

The grand inauguration of the 129th Kota Dusshera Mela was held on the 26th of September 2022 after two years of the Covid pandemic. It started with the prayer of Asha Pala Mataji as per the custom.

The same evening UDH Minister of State Shanti Dhariwal virtually attended the grand inauguration of Kota Dusshera Mela. The inauguration ceremony was held with flag hosting and firecrackers followed by folk dances and cultural activities.

Kota Dussehra Mela will continue till the 23rd of Oct 2022. In this Mela, you can see Ramlila till Vijaydashmi, folk dances, and other cultural activities by various artists every night at Shree Ram Rangmanch of Dusshera ground in Kota city situated in the state of Rajasthan, India.

Kota is one of the big cities in the state of Rajasthan(India) situated on the bank of the Chambal River. It is famous for Kota Doria sarees, Kota stone, Kota ki kachori and now for Kota coaching institutes.

Why Kota Dusshera Mela is unique?

It’s one of the longest Dusshera Mela in India. The Kota Dusshera trade fair is for approximately a month. More than a hundred thousand people visit every day. It’s more crowded during Ravan Dahan on Vijaydashmi.

Kota Dusshera is also unique due to the tall height of Ravan ka Putla (Ravan Dummy). Every year the makers of Ravan ka Putla try to make it taller and taller than the previous years.

It’s also historical due to the reason that till now Ravan Dahan is been done by the royal family member of Kota Riyasat. The procession starts from Garh Palace with Bhagwan Laxmi Narayan Ji ki Sawari followed by the Rath of royal family members and many other Jhankies. This procession is splendid.

Top Dusshera Festivals

Dusshera festival is celebrated across India on Vijaydashmi. It is been celebrated on the day when Bhagwan Shree Ram returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravan. It is also celebrated as a victory of truth and Dharma over evil and ego.

Although Dusshera is celebrated in almost every city, town and village in India still some are more renowned.

Dusshera in Bastar, Chattisgarh is known for 75 days long celebration. It’s a wonderful feeling to watch this festival with the tribals dressed in bright traditional attire.

Kulu Dusshera is an internationally famed Dusshera Mela. A lot of foreigners and locals visit and enjoy this festival every year. It is for 7 days.

Mysore Dusshera is one of the most famous Dusshera Mela in India.

Political Drama in Rajasthan

As per the latest news political drama is going on in Rajasthan.

The trending news is that 92 MLAs who are supporters of Ashok Gehlot have submitted resignations to the speaker of the Rajasthan state Assembly. They are opposing Sachin Pilot and they want the Rajasthan CM should be of their choice, not those who had tried previously to break the Ashok Gehlot Government.

Prior to that a supposed meeting to select the Chief Minister of Rajasthan was been delayed due to the reason of non-arrival of Ashok Gehlot’s supporter MLAs. Although Sachin Pilot’s supporting MLAs were in time with enthusiasm and hope that Sachin Pilot will be selected.

Later, they realized that something fussy is going on.

Whether it is pre-decided or the high command has lost control over the MLAs of Rajasthan. Can a congressman go against the wish of high command? Did the MLAs are challenging high command?

After the announcement of the election of Congress President and Ashok Gehlot’s candidature, it was expected that Ashok Gehlot will never support Sachin Pilot and will definitely impose the next Rajasthan CM from his supporter. Probably he might have conveyed this to the high command and got an agreement.

In the meantime, Sachin Pilot supporters got excited and started trending on social media platforms as they wanted Sachin Pilot as the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 2022.

Probably this was the reason to create a political drama in Rajasthan messaging that Sachin Pilot is not been supported by the MLAs and Ashok Gehlot is not like the former PM who will lead the Congress as per his wish not as per the high command wish.

It was also to convey a message that Ashok Gehlot is not against Sachin Pilot but the MLAs are against Sachin Pilot.

Is Sachin Pilot going to be Rajasthan CM 2022?

It is trending on social media platforms that Sachin Pilot is going to be Rajasthan CM 2022. Is Sachin Pilot going to be rewarded for his efforts since 2020 of bringing back Congress into power in Rajasthan?

After the announcement of conducting an election for all India Congress President, Shashi Tharoor was supposed to fight the election. This news was probably not favourable to the high command of the Congress Party.

As per the views of the public looking to the past record (appointing PM of India) of high command, they have to select someone that suits them. And as a result, Ashok Gehlot might have been moved ahead to fight the election for Congress Party President.

Maybe due to internal conflict “one person one post” demand was been raised. That generated questions in the mind of the public and politicians

The internal conflict between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot is famous. It is also established that Ashok Gehlot has a very good relationship with the high command. Looking at this scenario it may happen that Ashok Gehlot’s magic may work.

It’s also a hope due to recent conflicts and opposition high command may take some popularity-gaining decisions such as not choosing the next president from a particular family.

Is Sachin Pilot going to be Rajasthan CM? The answer to this question we will be getting in future. Although it depends upon the high command and we all have to wait.
