Kota Thermal is one of the biggest electricity production plants. The electricity crisis suddenly deepens in Rajasthan due to the production being halted in all seven units of Kota Thermal.

Kota city and many villages of Rawatbhata subdivision area were plunged into darkness due to the explosion of the current transformer (CTBT) of 220 KV line of Electricity Transmission Corporation at Sakatpura in Kota city at around 8 pm on Friday. Due to this, power generation came to a standstill in all seven Kota Thermal units and three Rana Pratap Sagar Hydroelectric Power Station units.

Moreover, due to this, a power supply could not be provided to 132 KV GSS and 33 KV GSS of KEDL associated with it. Furthermore, many villages of Kota city and Rawatbhata subdivision headquarters were plunged into darkness. Although electricity was being produced from three units of the Rana Pratap Sagar hydropower plant, that too was stopped. Efforts were being made to restore the power supply in Kota city till late at night.

Electricity supply is supplied to Kota Super Thermal Power Station from the 220 KV line of Electricity Transmission Corporation. All seven units also came to a standstill due to the blast in the current transformer. Thermal Chief Engineer AK Arya said that all seven units of Kota Thermal have come to a standstill. Efforts are being made to restart them.

Let us tell you that there is a possibility of loss of crores to Thermal due to this. Because restarting a unit costs up to Rs 20 lakh. At the same time, the Executive Engineer of Electricity Transmission Corporation, Lalit Chitora, said that the system has come to a standstill due to the blast of the current transformer (CTBT) of the 220 KV line of the corporation. It will take time to start.

This GSS affected in Kota city

Dadabadi, Nayapura, Borkheda, DCM, Sakatpura, RKpuram, JP Market, Vallabh Nagar, Kunhadi, MBS Hospital, Seven Wonders, Ganesh Pal were affected. Moreover, Indira Gandhi Nagar, Landmark, SCSA, Oxygen, IL, Prem Nagar, IEGSS, Electronic Complex, Thegada, IHSDP, MLS-2 and Riddhi Siddhi Nagar were also affected.

Three units of Hydropower plant were restored late at night

Ashish Kumar Jain, Executive Engineer of the hydropower plant, said that power generation from all three units of the hydropower plant started at 9.30 pm. At the same time, at around 8 pm, the electricity being supplied from Barolia 132 KV grid station stopped.

Ajmer Electricity Distribution Corporation Engineer Mahavir Bainsla said that the power supply system from the 132 KV grid station failed. The electricity supply between Kota and Rawatbhata was stopped. The supply was not restored even till 9 pm. Information was received at 132 KV grid station Baroliya that a CTBT blast has taken place in Kota Saktapura. Due to this power supply has been disrupted at all places connected to Kota Sakatpura. Electricity supply from RAPP 132 KV also stopped.
