Mona Agarwal is an Indian Para Shooter from Rajasthan. She was born on 8th November 1987 in Sikar. Mona is the third child after two elder sisters to her parents. When she was just nine months old she got a paralytic attack.

After marrying Ravindra Chaudhary Mona Agarwal shifted to Jaipur the Pink City of India. The couple has two children: a son, Avik, and a daughter, Aarvi.

Career of Mona Agarwal

Despite all the odds, Mona Agarwal, with the support of her maternal grandmother Geeta Devi and husband Ravindra Chaudhary, made her career in Para Shooting. Ravindra Chaudhary is a former wheelchair basketball player. Furthermore, he is currently undergoing rehabilitation at home following a brain injury sustained in an accident.

Mona Agarwal is a shining example of how grit and determination can turn early obstacles into extraordinary success in her sport.

In July 2023, Mona made her international debut by representing her country for the first time at the World Cup held in Osijek, Croatia. She subsequently secured a gold medal at the Para World Cup held in Changwon, Korea, in April 2024.

Announced by the Ministry

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the National Sports Awards. Four players will be awarded the Khel Ratna, 34 will be awarded the Arjuna Award, and two will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jaipur’s para-shooter Mona will also be honoured with the Arjun Award. Mona won a bronze medal in the Paris Paralympics.

Reaction of Mona Agarwal

Mona Agarwal said that having my name included in the list of players receiving the Arjuna Award is like a dream come true for me.

She said that before Paris Paralympics no one even knew me. After I got the Olympic quota my condition was very bad. I neither had high-level equipment nor coaching. But I had faith in my mind that I had to win a medal at any cost.

Mona said that my next target is the 2026 Asian Para Games. In addition, I’m determined to secure a spot for the 2028 Paralympics and am putting in the effort to make it happen.
