The Central Government’s National Career Service Portal (NCS) is now preparing to compete with private job platforms like Naukri.com, Monster.com and Shine Jobs. Amidst the increasing unemployment in the country, the NCS is also preparing to add private-sector companies to its platform. More than 4 crore job seekers and more than 26 lakh employers (companies) nationwide are currently connected to this portal. In the year 2023-24, 1.09 crore job openings were posted on the NCS. The number of jobs posted was only 34.8 lakh in 2022-23. That means job postings increased three times in just one year.

The government is preparing to modernize the NCS. Soon technologies like AI and machine learning will be included in it. Thus it will become easy for the candidates to get information related to the job. The Labor Ministry may soon launch the advanced version of the National Career Service portal.
There will be a conversation with the employers to make this portal user-friendly. Moreover, employers will be asked what type of candidate they want for which job. In the portal, along with the job seekers, the needs of the employers will also be taken care of.
