During a review meeting at the bus stand’s admin block, Commissioner Mehra announced that the Municipal Corporation is expected to receive government buses in May for operating e-buses in Kota. He said that preparations have already begun for the smooth operation of these buses. A PM e-Bus depot is being constructed in Subhash Nagar for parking and charging of these buses.
The Commissioner announced a change in plan regarding the charging stations. Previously, their installation was scheduled to occur only after civil work was finished. Now, officials have been directed to set up the charging stations concurrently with other tasks. This adjustment aims to ensure the entire project is completed on time, preventing unnecessary delays.
Electric buses will soon run in Rajasthan Roadways.
Now, Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (Roadways) will also play a role in putting the brakes on the pollution, which is increasing day by day. If everything goes well, soon, roadways’ electric buses will be seen running on the roads of Jodhpur. Under the PM e-bus sewa scheme, the Jodhpur depot is expected to get 20 buses soon. The electric buses received by Jodhpur will be prioritised for operation on the Ajmer route. This will make travel between the two cities more convenient, economical, and environmentally friendly. Trail run for electric buses has already been done in Jaipur.
