PM Narendra Modi flew Tejas aircraft on Saturday. Thus, he has become the first Prime Minister to take the first flight in India’s indigenous aircraft.

Attired in a G-suit, PM Narendra Modi was accompanied by an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot as the aircraft took off from the Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Airport) in Bengaluru.

The co-pilot in Tejas has the job of targeting the enemies. Although the co-pilot can fly the plane from this seat, their main task is to target enemies from behind.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Bengaluru on Saturday to review the manufacturing facility of the warplane Tejas jet including its facility. It has been built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited on a campus spread over 615 acres. From here, PM Modi will now go to Telangana to hold a public meeting.

The Tejas is a single-engine multi-role 2-pilot seat fighter aircraft. Moreover, Tejas is equipped with the most modern cockpit systems and can give the best performance in every season.

Its flexibility permits it to carry out Interception, air-to-surface and anti-shipping roles in a single mission.

Tejas is a 4.5-generation aircraft that can destroy 10 targets simultaneously and can carry weapons up to 08 tons.
