Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) national president and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal has strongly attacked the BJP government led by Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma over the Hanumangarh incident.
Why does the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) national president criticise
Asia’s largest ethanol plant is under construction at Rathikheda village. Protests against the ethanol factory in Hanumangarh escalated into violence. While farmer unrest also took place in the Tibbi area of the district. Farmers destroyed part of the Dune Ethanol Private Limited factory under construction in Rathikheda village. This led to intense clashes between the police and the protesters.
Farmers grew increasingly agitated, leading police to use lathi charges and tear gas. In response, protesters set around 14 vehicles ablaze. The violent clashes resulted in over 50 injuries, including a head injury sustained by Congress MLA Abhimanyu Poonia. Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) national president Beniwal criticised the BJP government on this incident.
National President of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) Beniwal said that if any project affects land, water levels, the environment, or the livelihoods of farmers, then making their voices heard is the real basis of democracy. Moreover, he described the farmers’ concerns as “absolutely justified”.
He alleged that the BJP government in Rajasthan has become insensitive and is trying to crush the movement with sticks and bullets. Beniwal remarked that while the BJP promotes a strong democracy, the police’s actions in Hanumangarh undermine it. He noted that the government is under corporate pressure and must find a fair solution through dialogue. The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) strongly condemned the government’s and the police’s attitude.

Rashtriya Loktantrik Party Overview
The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) is a political entity primarily rooted in the state of Rajasthan, India. It’s often characterised as a regional force that draws significant support from the state’s Jat community and rural population.
The Rashtriya Loktantrik Party was founded by Hanuman Beniwal in the year 2018. He is a prominent and often outspoken figure in Rajasthani politics. Beniwal’s charismatic and assertive leadership style has been fundamental to the RLP’s identity. He often positions the party as a champion for marginalised communities. Moreover, he is a challenger to the traditional dominance of the two major national parties, the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in the state.
The RLP’s political platform generally revolves around issues directly affecting the rural demographic, such as farmers’ rights, better irrigation facilities, and local development. It advocates for the interests of the common people, often employing an anti-establishment rhetoric.
While relatively small on the national stage, the RLP has managed to secure a noticeable presence in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Thus making it a key player in the state’s coalition politics. Its influence is often strongest in the Marwar region of Rajasthan. The party has shown a willingness to align with larger political formations—including a past association with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)—when it aligns with their immediate goals of gaining leverage and addressing their core constituency’s demands.
In essence, the RLP represents a dynamic, personality-driven regional challenge to the established political order in Rajasthan, focusing on localised issues and the aspirations of its specific, strong rural base.

Ethanol Production Benefits
Ethanol production provides important advantages. It enhances energy security and supports a cleaner environment. As a renewable fuel made from plant materials like corn or sugarcane, it decreases dependence on fossil fuels. Additionally, ethanol can be produced locally, which strengthens a nation’s energy independence.
Moreover, Ethanol blends help lower tailpipe emissions of harmful substances, such as carbon monoxide and particulate matter. Biofuels generally emit less greenhouse gas than pure gasoline due to carbon absorption during feedstock growth.
The industry supports rural economies by increasing demand for agricultural products. It also creates many direct and indirect jobs in farming and production. Additionally, byproducts like distillers’ grains serve as valuable animal feed.
