The state government has decided that now the rate of petrol and diesel in Jaipur will be the same in all the districts. Till now, there are different rates of petrol and diesel in the border districts. The decision was taken in a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal on Thursday.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, while talking to journalists after the meeting, said that there were discrepancies in the rates of petrol and diesel in Rajasthan. They have been turned away. Earlier the rates were different in the districts and in the state itself there was a difference of up to Rs 5 per litre in the rates of petrol and diesel.

The most expensive diesel was in the border districts. Due to this, sales of petrol pumps in border areas were decreasing. To provide relief to people from inflation, VAT has been reduced by 2%. The state government has fulfilled the guarantee of PM Narendra Modi by reducing the rates of petrol and diesel. Reducing the rates will put an additional burden of Rs 1,500 crore on the government.
