  • Districts in Rajasthan new list decided in cabinet meeting

Districts in Rajasthan new list decided in cabinet meeting

The districts in Rajasthan were finally decided in the Bhajanlal government’s cabinet meeting. The Rajasthan government eliminated nine districts and established three new divisions introduced by the Gehlot administration. Thus, Rajasthan now has a total of 41 districts and 7 divisions.

After the first anniversary of Rising Rajasthan and the government, the Bhajanlal government held a cabinet and council of ministers meeting on Saturday at CMO. The Bhajanlal government made many big decisions in this meeting. After the cabinet meeting, Minister Sumit Godara and Minister Jogaram Patel held a press conference and informed the public about the decisions.

    Districts in Rajasthan abolished

The Bhajan Lal government has cancelled the nine new districts created during Gehlot rule: Dudu, Kekri, Jodhpur Rural, Shahpura, Neemkathana, Anupgarh, Gangapur City, Jaipur Rural, and Sanchore.

Deeg, Balotra, Khairthal-Tijara, Beawar, Kotputli-Behror, Didwana-Kuchaman, Phalodi, and Sanlubar will remain districts.

Work online from any districts of Rajasthan

Reasons for abolishing the districts in Rajasthan

Minister Jogaram Patel stated that the newly created districts and divisions before the elections were impractical, leading to the decision to abolish them. Moreover, the oversight of financial resources and population factors resulted in many districts lacking 6-7 tehsils.

The minister stated that the need for numerous districts would have been assessed. Moreover, no posts or office buildings were established, and only 18 departments made arrangements for creating posts. Furthermore, he stated that the committee review concluded these districts are imposing an unnecessary burden on Rajasthan and lack utility.

Gehlot government had created 17 new districts

The previous Gehlot government created 17 new districts in Rajasthan before the election. These districts were Balotra, Didwana, Phalodi, Anupgarh, Jodhpur Rural, Salumbhar, Sanchore, Shahpura, Neemkathana, Gangapur City, Khairthal-Tijara, Deeg, Kotputli-Bahrod, Beawar, Kekri, Jaipur Rural and Dudu. Apart from this, three new divisions namely Sikar, Pali and Banswara were also created.

Now out of these 17 districts, nine are been abolished. After the decision of the Bhajan Lal government, now out of 17 new districts, only 8 will remain as they are.

Gehlot got upset due to his created districts were dissolved.

Opposition party Congress leaders are on the offensive after the Bhajan Lal government decided to cancel 9 districts and 3 divisions in Rajasthan.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot criticized the BJP government. He describes it as a short-sighted decision driven by political vengeance. He said that this decision is not only against the public interest but also undermines the goal of administrative reform.

Furthermore, he said that on March 21, 2022, senior administrative officer Ramlubhaya chaired a committee that compiled its report after reviewing hundreds of submissions. Moreover, new districts in Rajasthan were formed based on these recommendations.

  • Robotic heart surgery for the first time in Rajasthan

Robotic heart surgery for the first time in Rajasthan

Robotic heart surgery was performed for the first time at Jaipur in Rajasthan. The team of cardiac surgeons of Manipal Hospital performed this surgery on three patients (one woman and two men) on three consecutive days.

Out of these three patients, two patients had blockages in their heart veins for which bypass surgery was performed. Furthermore, one patient had a large hole in his heart, which was closed with robotic heart surgery. Moreover, all the patients are completely healthy. All three patients are residents of Rajasthan.

    Work Safely from Home

Dr Lalitaditya Malik, a senior cardiac surgeon performed the surgery. He said that the Robotic heart surgery technique is completely different from traditional surgery. No incision is created, nor is the bone severed in this procedure. In the old technique, a 9-10 inch long incision was made on the chest, whereas in robotic surgery the operation is completed by making only a small hole.

This technology has been used in metro cities like Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai since last year. The new initiative in Jaipur will feature a cutting-edge robotic heart surgery facility.

    What is robotic heart surgery?

Robotic heart surgery is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed by a surgeon using a robotic system. Instead of making a large incision in the chest, the surgeon makes several small incisions and inserts thin robotic arms with surgical instruments attached to them. The surgeon controls these instruments from a console, using a high-definition 3D camera to guide them.

    Benefits of robotic heart surgery

    • Higher accuracy of surgery. Moreover, it takes less time than traditional surgery.
    • Reduced blood loss. Therefore there is no need for a blood transfusion. Moreover, it reduces the risk of infection.
    • Smaller, less noticeable scars. That leads to less pain.
    • Improved surgical precision for complex procedures. This leads to less trauma to the body compared to conventional surgery.
    • Faster recovery and shorter hospital stays. The patient’s stay in the hospital is reduced. Discharge in 2-3 days if recovery is better. Hence less hospital stay charges.

    Common robotic heart surgeries

    • Valve repair or replacement (mitral or tricuspid valves).
    • Coronary artery bypass grafting (in specific cases).
    • Atrial septal defect closure
    • Tumor removal or treating irregular heart rhythms.

    Limitations:

    • Not suitable for all patients or all types of heart conditions.
    • Requires specialized training for the surgical team.
    • Can be more expensive than traditional methods due to the equipment involved.

    How It Works:

    • Pre-Surgery: Imaging techniques (e.g., CT or MRI) are used to plan the procedure.
    • During Surgery: The surgeon sits at the robotic console and uses hand controls to guide the robotic arms.
    • Post-Surgery: Patients typically recover faster and experience less pain than with open-heart surgery.

Robotic heart surgery is often used in specialized cardiac centres and is an option for patients seeking less invasive alternatives to traditional heart surgery.

Kota Barrage 4 gates open yesterday night

Kota Barrage 4 gates were opened yesterday night along with gates of other Chambal river dams. Due to the weather circulation system, Gunjali, a tributary of Chambal, overflowed after heavy rains in the catchment area of Rana Pratap Sagar Dam. Because of the water inflow, water flow was started on Sunday by opening one Rana Pratap Sagar Dam gate. Due to this, two gates of Jawahar Sagar and four gates of Kota Barrage were also opened.

This time, for the first time in October, the gates of Chambal dams have been opened. However, the Kota Barrage dam gates were previously opened in the year 2022 in October month. Before this, people living in the downstream area were alerted by sounding sirens.

Kota- Rawatbhata Rana Pratap Sagar Dam’s superintending engineer Ejazuddin Ansari said that the gates of the Chambal River dams have always been opened in August and September. So far for the first time after three decades, the Chambal River dams gates have been opened in October.

    Chambal River Dam

The Chambal River, a major tributary of the Yamuna River in India, has several dams and reservoirs constructed along its course for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and flood control. The most prominent dams on the Chambal River are part of the Chambal Valley Development Project, which was undertaken by the Indian states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. These include:

    1. Gandhisagar Dam

    • Location: Madhya Pradesh (near Mandsaur)
    • Purpose: This is the first dam built on the Chambal River, primarily for hydroelectric power generation and irrigation.
    • Reservoir: Gandhisagar Lake
    • Height: 62.17 meters
    • Capacity: Around 7.32 billion cubic meters.

    2. Rana Pratap Sagar Dam

    • Location: Rajasthan (near Rawatbhata)
    • Purpose: This dam generates hydroelectricity and provides irrigation facilities.
    • Reservoir: Rana Pratap Sagar Lake
    • Height: 54 meters
    • Capacity: About 2.9 billion cubic meters. Moreover, it is the biggest dam in the Rajasthan.

    3. Jawahar Sagar Dam

    • Location: Rajasthan (near Kota)
    • Purpose: Hydroelectric power generation and irrigation.
    • Height: 45 meters
    • Capacity: 0.67 billion cubic meters.

    4. Kota Barrage

    • Location: Kota, Rajasthan
    • Purpose: The Kota Barrage primarily facilitates irrigation by diverting water to canals but does not have a hydroelectric component like the other dams upstream. Instead of the hydroelectric project, a Super Thermal Power Plant is running on the bank of the Chambal River near the Kota Barrage.
    • Height: 27.8 meters
    • Capacity: N/A for electricity still a large amount of water is used in the thermal power plant. Kota Barrage mainly controls water flow for irrigation.

These Chambal River dams have created a chain of reservoirs along the Chambal River. Moreover, they are providing substantial benefits in terms of water resources management for agriculture and power generation. However, they have also affected the river’s ecosystem, especially impacting the habitats of species like the Gharial (a type of crocodile) and freshwater dolphins.
