Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana was launched by PM Narendra Modi yesterday. He informed the public about this scheme by posting on X. Moreover, a press release was made by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is a government scheme that aims to provide free electricity to one crore households in India. PM Modi wants to popularise this scheme. He aims to implement this scheme at the ground level by motivating urban local bodies and gram panchayats. Urban Local Bodies and Panchayats will be provided with incentives to promote the scheme of rooftop solar systems at the local level. This scheme will lead to increased income, lower power bills, and generation of employment opportunities for the people.
