Kailash Chaudhary has called independent candidate Ravinder Singh Bhati the B-team of the Congress. Who is Ravinder Singh Bhati?
Ravinder Singh Bhati, resident of Dudhoda, a small village of Barmer, comes from a very ordinary family. His father is a teacher. Youth leader Ravinder Singh’s father’s name is Shaitan Singh Bhati and his mother’s name is Ashok Kanwar. Ravinder Singh Bhati is married and his wife’s name is Dhanishtha Kanwar. Ravinder Singh Bhati grew up in the soil of Marwar since childhood and enhanced his respect for his Marwari culture.
Political Career of Ravinder Singh Bhati
Ravinder Singh Bhati started his political career in the year 2019. He started as the Student Union President of Jai Narayan Vyas University with a historic victory of 1294 votes as an independent candidate. In the year 2019, nominations of candidates were released for the post of Student Union President at Jai Narayan Vyas University. Ravinder Singh did not get the ticket from ABVP. Therefore he contested the election as an independent. Despite contesting the election as an independent, he won with a huge victory by 1294 votes. This was a big achievement for Ravinder Singh Bhati as he entered politics. Since there was no election for the post of Student Union President due to the Corona epidemic, he held the post of Student Union President of Jai Narayan Vyas University from 2019 to 2022. He had the longest tenure as student union president.
Student Leader to MLA
After achieving success as a Student Union President, Ravinder Singh Bhati set his sights on becoming an MLA. He aspired to contest elections on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, the party gave the ticket for the Shiv assembly constituency to Swaroop Singh Khara instead of Ravinder Singh. This decision left Ravinder Singh disillusioned with the party, and he decided to contest the elections as an independent candidate. The independent candidate Bhati won the Rajasthan Assembly elections held on December 3rd, 2023 defeating a veteran leader by 3950 votes.
Ravinder Singh Bhati is currently running as an independent candidate in the Rajasthan Lok Sabha elections, causing a stir in politics. The BJP is feeling tense due to Bhati’s popularity. He is contesting for the Barmer-Jaisalmer Lok Sabha seat. Moreover, his nomination has made Barmer one of the top 25 hotly contested seats in Rajasthan.
