Champai Soren will officially join the BJP on August 30 as per the post of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on X. Former Jharkhand CM Champai will officially join the Bharatiya Janata Party on August 30 in Ranchi. Himanta said in his post that Soren met Home Minister Amit Shah. It is noteworthy that Champai Soren reached New Delhi along with Himanta to meet Amit Shah.
Before that Champai Soren was made the CM of Jharkhand after the arrest of Hemant Soren in the money laundering case. He served as CM from February to July. Later he was removed from the CM post after Hemant Soren got bail. Afterwards, Hemant Soren again became Chief Minister of Jharkhand. This move of Hemant Soren was been criticized.
Biography of Champai Soren
Champai Soren was born on the 1st of November 1956 in Jilinggora village in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Simal Soren, his father, is engaged in agricultural activities. His educational attainment includes studies up to Grade 10 in a government school. He is the parent of seven children.
Champai Soren had entered politics through the separate Jharkhand state movement in the 90s. He is considered very close to JMM President Shibu Soren and Working President Hemant Soren.
Champai Soren is an Indian politician from the state of Jharkhand. He is a prominent leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a political party that primarily represents the tribal and indigenous populations of Jharkhand. He has been an influential figure in Jharkhand’s state politics and has served multiple terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Seraikela constituency. Champai Soren has been elected to the Assembly in every election since 2005.
Soren has played an important role in advocating for the rights of tribal communities, focusing on issues related to land, water, and forest conservation. He has also been actively involved in the movement for the separate statehood of Jharkhand, which was created in 2000 after being carved out of Bihar.
Champai Soren has held various positions within the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the state government. He has been known for his grassroots leadership and efforts to uplift marginalized communities.
Second visit of Champai Soren to Delhi
This was the second visit to Delhi of Champai Soren after resigning as CM. During his last visit to Delhi, he had made serious allegations against the JMM party leadership. Champai had accused the party leadership of humiliating him through a post on social media. In the post, he wrote that he is emotionally hurt due to the continuous insulting behaviours.
Sharing his pain, Champai said that after continuous insults and contempt, he was left with the option of retiring from politics, setting up his organization or moving forward with a new partner. Furthermore, he said that the options are open till the assembly elections. Moreover, a new chapter of his life is going to start. He also talked about finding a new option. Later there were discussions that he could also form a new party.
In between the two visit
Between these two visits, the former CM met his supporters in the Kolhan area of Jharkhand before the assembly elections. He also discussed the strategy with party workers. After this, while talking to journalists, Champai Soren indicated that he would form a new party. There was also some speculation that 68-year-old Champai Soren, angry with JMM, along with some of his workers, is looking for opportunities outside the party. Now the curtain has been lifted from all this. Moreover, assembly elections are going to be held in Jharkhand later this year.
