Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is making headlines again today. The former Chief Minister recently celebrated a major legal victory. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has given a big relief to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the case related to the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam. The court discharged both of them. A Delhi Court discharged him and several colleagues in the long-standing excise policy case. This development comes after Kejriwal’s earlier arrests (he spent around 5 months in jail) and bail grants in related CBI and ED probes.
The judge noted a lack of substantial evidence to support the conspiracy theories presented. The judge criticised the CBI’s investigation, noting the voluminous chargesheet lacked support from witnesses or statements. This effectively clears them at the trial court level, with no charges framed and no trial proceeding.
Arvind Kejriwal became emotional after the court’s decision. Kejriwal said, “I have always practised honest politics. Today’s court comments have revealed the truth. Manish Sisodia and I are both staunchly honest.”
Furthermore, this development has provided a fresh wave of momentum to his political journey. Many supporters view this as a complete vindication of the Former Chief Minister of Delhi. He posted on X saying, “In the end, unrighteousness and injustice lose, and truth prevails. Satyameva Jayate”

His wife, Sunita Kejriwal, also posted on X, saying, “In this world, no matter how powerful one becomes, one cannot rise above Shiva Shakti. Truth always prevails.” Furthermore, this post was retweeted by Arvind Kejriwal.

However, the CBI has stated it will challenge the order in the Delhi High Court, claiming key aspects of the investigation were ignored or not adequately considered. The case could potentially continue if the appeal succeeds.
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the March for Rights
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is making headlines again today with a major public announcement. He has officially declared a massive protest rally scheduled for March 1 at Jantar Mantar. This move comes as a response to recent administrative decisions affecting thousands of public employees. The Former Chief Minister of Delhi continues to remain a central figure in the city’s political landscape. He is currently focusing on the rights of bus marshals and health workers. His active presence ensures that the Aam Aadmi Party’s voice remains strong in the capital.
The Former Chief Minister will lead a large-scale demonstration to highlight job security issues. He expressed deep concern over the removal of data entry operators and Mohalla Clinic staff. This rally serves as his primary platform to challenge the current administration’s policies. Transitioning from governance to activism, the Former Chief Minister of Delhi is mobilising supporters across the city. He has urged all affected workers to join the protest in their official uniforms. This event marks a significant step in his post-resignation strategy to stay connected with the masses.

Understanding the Delhi Liquor Scam Allegations
The Delhi liquor scam refers to a controversy surrounding the 2021-22 Excise Policy. This policy aimed to exit the government from the liquor retail business entirely. It allowed private players to bid for licenses across various zones in the city. However, allegations soon surfaced regarding illegal kickbacks and favouritism.

Who Started the Allegations?
The initial complaints were filed by Chaudhary Anil Kumar, who was then the Delhi Congress President. Following this, Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar submitted a detailed report to the Lieutenant Governor. This report alleged “procedural lapses” and “undue benefits” to liquor licensees. Consequently, the Lieutenant Governor recommended a CBI probe, which eventually led to the involvement of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The First Former Female Chief Minister of Delhi

Recent Transitions: From Atishi to Rekha Gupta
The leadership of Delhi has undergone rapid changes in the last two years. After the resignation of the Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in late 2024, Atishi Marlena took over as the interim leader. Her tenure focused on maintaining the momentum of education and health reforms.
However, the political tide shifted during the February 2025 Assembly elections. The BJP returned to power after nearly three decades. Rekha Gupta was sworn in as the current Chief Minister of Delhi. She is currently leading the city with a focus on infrastructure and heritage preservation. Her recent projects include the underground cabling of wires in Chandni Chowk to improve safety and aesthetics.
