Mohan Majhi will be sworn in as Odisha’s CM tomorrow.

Mohan Majhi will be the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha and will lead the first BJP government in the state. Odisha finally got its new Chief Minister this evening, a week after the election results. The name of the new Chief Minister of Odisha has been announced. In the meeting held in Bhuvemeshwar today evening the BJP MLAs expressed confidence in the name of Mohan Majhi for Chief Minister of Odisha.

BJP had appointed Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav as observers to choose the CM in Odisha state. After which both these Union Ministers reached Odisha on Tuesday for the selection of CM. The name of Mohan Majhi was approved after the meeting held with the MLAs here. At the same time, along with CM Mohan Majhi, two deputy CMs have also been selected. Prabhati Pravida and KV Singh will be the two Deputy Chief Ministers for Odisha.

Who is Mohan Majhi?

Mohan Charan Majhi was born in the year 1972 in Raikalan, Keonjhar district of Odisha. After receiving primary education, he started his political journey as Sarpanch. Afterwards, he joined politics and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Gradually he started being counted as a strong tribal leader of BJP in Odisha.

In the year 2000, Majhi was elected as a BJP candidate from the Keonjhar assembly constituency and won. After this, in the year 2009, the BJP again expressed confidence in Mohan Charan Majhi. He contested and won the elections from Keonjhar assembly seat. Moreover, in 2019, Manjhi once again won from Keonjhar assembly seat on the BJP ticket. Furthermore, Mohan Charan Majhi won from Keonjhar Assembly for the fourth time in 2024. This time in the election, Mohan Charan Majhi got a total of 87815 votes and he defeated his nearest rival Meena Majhi of Biju Janata Dal by a huge margin of 11577 votes.

According to the affidavit given to the Election Commission, the total worth of movable and immovable assets of Majhi and his family is Rs 1.97 crore.

This time, the Bharatiya Janata Party expressed confidence in Majhi, who won from the same assembly constituency four times and appointed him the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha. Mohan Charan Majhi will be the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha and will lead the first BJP government in the state.

This time in the Odisha Assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party stopped Vijayrath of Biju Janata Dal in the state and registered a big victory. By winning 78 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the largest party in Odisha. On the other hand, Biju Janata Dal won 51 seats. BJD has ruled Odisha for the last 24 years.

A new government will soon be formed in Odisha. The party had contested the elections under the leadership of PM Modi without declaring a chief ministerial candidate. The swearing-in of the newly elected BJP government is to take place on June 12. BJP is going to form its government in Odisha for the first time.

PM Modi will attend the swearing-in ceremony

Party sources said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can reach Bhubaneswar at 2.30 pm on Wednesday and will go to Raj Bhavan from the airport. After this, he will reach Janata Maidan to participate in the swearing-in ceremony. Strict security arrangements are being made at the proposed venue for the swearing-in ceremony.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of other states will also attend the ceremony.

Naveen Patnaik will attend the swearing-in ceremony

A delegation led by Odisha BJP state president Manmohan Samal met Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday. Manmohan invited Patnaik to the swearing-in ceremony of the first BJP government in Odisha to be held on Wednesday. Moreover, Manmohan Samal along with senior party leaders Basant Kumar Panda, Suresh Pujari, Sameer Mohanty and Nityanand Gond went to Naveen Patnaik’s house to invite the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo.

Manmohan Samal said we invited Naveen Patnaik for the swearing-in ceremony. Navin Patnaik has accepted the invitation and has assured us that he will attend the event. Manmohan said invitations will also be sent to the Congress President and senior leaders of various political parties for the swearing-in ceremony.

A BJP team had gone to Puri to invite Bhagwan Jagannath.

A special team of the state BJP also went to Jagannath Temple in Puri today on Tuesday to invite Lord Jagannath for the swearing-in ceremony. Let us tell you that after winning 78 out of 147 seats in the recently concluded assembly elections. The BJP is going to form the government on its own for the first time in Odisha on Wednesday.
