Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren posted on social media on Thursday that Ritika Tirkey is running Vande Bharat Express with full confidence. She is Jharkhand’s daughter and the country’s first woman tribal assistant loco pilot to run Vande Bharat. Furthermore, EX-CM wrote that this is the new India, in which this daughter of the tribal community is making our society and state proud with her education and talent.

Ritika joined Railways in 2019
Ritika Tirkey is originally from Gumla and now she lives with her husband in Jamshedpur. After obtaining a BE degree from BIT, Mesra, Ritika chose her career in Indian Railways. She joined the Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway (SER) in 2019 as a shunter. After that, she drove freight and passenger trains before being promoted to the rank of Senior Assistant Loco Pilot. Presently, she has the opportunity to assist in running the Vande Bharat Express.
Speaking to the media on the eve of flagging off the Vande Bharat Express, Ritika Tirkey said that she believes that women in India can achieve all their goals if they work hard. Ritika Tirkey said, “Opting for the Railways over a conventional job always felt like an adventure.” I would love to see more women pursue this as a career. Women can always lead.” Ritika said, “Yes, I am very happy to get this opportunity and I will give my best. I believe that women in India can achieve everything, provided they have the passion.”
Deepak Jha, Principal Chief Operation Manager (SER), said that Ritika Tirkey will inspire other women, including women from the tribal community, to aspire to make a career in the Railways.
Champai Soren will officially join the BJP on August 30 as per the post of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on X. Former Jharkhand CM Champai will officially join the Bharatiya Janata Party on August 30 in Ranchi. Himanta said in his post that Soren met Home Minister Amit Shah. It is noteworthy that Champai Soren reached New Delhi along with Himanta to meet Amit Shah.
Before that Champai Soren was made the CM of Jharkhand after the arrest of Hemant Soren in the money laundering case. He served as CM from February to July. Later he was removed from the CM post after Hemant Soren got bail. Afterwards, Hemant Soren again became Chief Minister of Jharkhand. This move of Hemant Soren was been criticized.
Biography of Champai Soren
Champai Soren was born on the 1st of November 1956 in Jilinggora village in the Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Simal Soren, his father, is engaged in agricultural activities. His educational attainment includes studies up to Grade 10 in a government school. He is the parent of seven children.
Champai Soren had entered politics through the separate Jharkhand state movement in the 90s. He is considered very close to JMM President Shibu Soren and Working President Hemant Soren.
Champai Soren is an Indian politician from the state of Jharkhand. He is a prominent leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a political party that primarily represents the tribal and indigenous populations of Jharkhand. He has been an influential figure in Jharkhand’s state politics and has served multiple terms as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Seraikela constituency. Champai Soren has been elected to the Assembly in every election since 2005.
Soren has played an important role in advocating for the rights of tribal communities, focusing on issues related to land, water, and forest conservation. He has also been actively involved in the movement for the separate statehood of Jharkhand, which was created in 2000 after being carved out of Bihar.

Second visit of Champai Soren to Delhi
This was the second visit to Delhi of Champai Soren after resigning as CM. During his last visit to Delhi, he had made serious allegations against the JMM party leadership. Champai had accused the party leadership of humiliating him through a post on social media. In the post, he wrote that he is emotionally hurt due to the continuous insulting behaviours.
Sharing his pain, Champai said that after continuous insults and contempt, he was left with the option of retiring from politics, setting up his organization or moving forward with a new partner. Furthermore, he said that the options are open till the assembly elections. Moreover, a new chapter of his life is going to start. He also talked about finding a new option. Later there were discussions that he could also form a new party.
In between the two visit
Between these two visits, the former CM met his supporters in the Kolhan area of Jharkhand before the assembly elections. He also discussed the strategy with party workers. After this, while talking to journalists, Champai Soren indicated that he would form a new party. There was also some speculation that 68-year-old Champai Soren, angry with JMM, along with some of his workers, is looking for opportunities outside the party. ED arrested the Chief Engineer of Jharkhand Rural Development Department, Virendra K. Ram in a money laundering case in February last year.
According to the information, property worth Rs 150 crore was found at Virendra’s place. Apart from this, gold jewellery worth two crores was also recovered. ED also recovered a laptop and some pen drives from Virendra Ram. ED had started raiding 24 locations of Virendra on February 21 last year which ended on February 22. Virendra Ram was interrogated by the agency for two days based on the documents recovered from him during this raid.
The ED had told the court that an investigation of the bank accounts of Virendra and his family revealed money disproportionate to their legal sources of income. It is alleged that Ram acquired movable and immovable properties in the name of his father, wife and other family members. This wealth is not in proportion to the family income. A complaint in a money laundering case was filed against Virendra Ram in September 2020.
ED Raid is going on
After a long interrogation, Virendra Ram had revealed his relations with many big people before the ED. Now ED conducted raids in various areas of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. In the Virendra Ram case, a huge amount of cash was recovered from the domestic servant of Sanjeev Lal who is the personal secretary of Jharkhand Rural Development Minister Alamgir Alam. Counting is going on and it is estimated that the cash will be more than 25 crore.
Hemant Soren was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundry case last night after a long query for around 7 hours. In the custody of ED, he went to the governor’s house to resign as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand.

After the hideout of around 36 hours, Hemant Soren appeared in Ranchi on the 30th of January.

The Congress MP had mentioned jewellery worth a total of Rs 1.51 crore in his affidavit. Of these, 20 kg of silver jewellery worth Rs 8 lakh and diamond jewellery worth Rs 26 lakh were declared in his name.
