The elections were postponed due to the death of Gurmeet Singh Kunnar, former MLA from Karanpur and Congress candidate. After the announcement of the elections, Congress played the sympathy card by making his son Rupinder Singh Ruby Kunnar a candidate. But also played a big political gamble by making him Minister of State in the newly formed government before the voting. But in the counting of votes held on Monday, the Minister of State TT had to face defeat.

Excitement in the first round, disappointment in the second round

When BJP candidate TT got a lead of 724 votes in the first round, there was a wave of happiness among BJP people and TT supporters. At the counting venue, the counting agents raised slogans of Jai Shri Ram. This happiness evaporated in the next round. In the second round, Kunnar of Congress performed well and gained a lead of 184 votes, stopping TT’s lead.

Of the total 18 rounds, apart from the first and fifteenth rounds, there was not even a single round in which TT got the lead. Only Congress candidates were ahead in 16 out of 18 rounds. The deposits of other candidates were confiscated.

Kunnar remained ahead of Surendra Pal Singh TT in the postal ballot vote.

Congress candidate Rupinder Singh Ruby Kunnar was also ahead of BJP candidate Surendrapal Singh TT by twenty votes in the postal ballot paper vote. While Kunnar got 189 votes, TT got only 167 votes. Aam Aadmi Party’s Prithipal Singh Sandhu got only 28 votes.

Assembly election 2023: Congress is currently facing a difficult decision regarding the release of the candidate list.

Assembly elections in 2023 of five states have been announced. BJP has also announced candidates in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, but Congress has lagged behind in this matter. Congress is stuck in the dilemma of ‘winning’ and ‘sustainable’ candidates. In Rajasthan, the government is trying hard to conduct a repeat.

Gaurav Gogoi chaired a 16-hour meeting with Rajasthan leaders, in-charges, and co-in-charges to discuss all 200 seats.

In fact, in the last five years, Congress lost governments in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra due to the defection of MLAs. Whereas the Congress government in Rajasthan went through a very difficult phase. Now elections are around the corner, but there is continuous delay in deciding on the candidates.

Congress sources say that candidates have been decided for about 100 seats in Madhya Pradesh.

    Survey report revealed

Congress conducted the survey for the assembly election in 2023. Congress is stuck in confusion over the survey reports of Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

The party’s survey has revealed resentment among the public against some ministers and many MLAs in these two states.

Due to the performance of some MLAs in Rajasthan and public displeasure, the party wants to cancel their tickets. But the government is also under pressure to show sympathy towards ‘durable’ MLAs.

Apart from this, the party is also not finding a strong alternative to some MLAs who are performing poorly. This is the reason why the party is continuously churning after churning.

Feedback is taken from prominent leaders

Gogoi, close to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and chairman of the screening committee, brainstormed with the leaders of Rajasthan for about 16 hours two days ago.

Sources said that on the instructions of Rahul, Gogoi discussed the candidates for all the 200 seats with in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, State President Govind Singh Dotasara, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi.

After this, co-in-charge Qazi Nizamuddin, Amrita Dhawan and Virendra Singh Rathore were asked for the names of possible candidates for the assembly seats of the districts under their charge.

On the other hand, organization general secretary K.C. Venugopal has spoken separately to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and CWC member Sachin Pilot.

Now the feedback received from all these leaders and the results of about 5 surveys are being assessed at the national level. All these will be discussed in the screening committee meeting.

A solid basis for cutting tickets in the assembly election 2023.

On asking a question regarding cutting tickets of MLAs and ministers.

A party leader in Rajasthan stated that due to the government changing every five years, people tend to feel resentment towards their MLA, even if they are performing well on a large scale.

The party is investigating to ensure a fair selection process for the assembly election 2023.

    Conflict between BJP and Congress

After the announcement, the BJP and Congress are not missing out on attacking and counter-attacking each other.

Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly Rajendra Rathod said:-

-If there was such a need for a caste census then why was it not done earlier?

-Only the Central Government has the constitutional right to conduct a caste census.

-The Congress is losing its support base which is why they are announcing a census on the basis of caste, to gain caste support.

-The caste census will be implemented only after the government formation.

CM Gehlot makes an announcement every time – Rajyavardhan Rathore

On the announcement of the caste census in Rajasthan, BJP MP Rajyavardhan Rathore said:-

It is the policy of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to confuse people about the development of Rajasthan.

Every time they make an announcement and put up big posters.

Why have the figures of the census conducted by Congress in the entire country in 2011 not been released yet?

You are talking about a new census when only 2 days are left in their government.

Will you remove all the government officials from the elections and put them in the census?

Videos of the Bihar census are coming out that people were not even asked about their caste. There has been fraud there.
