Moreover, cities that are selected for the mission receive financial and technical assistance from the central government. The mission was expected to be completed by 2023.

Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer cities of Rajasthan are selected under the smart cities mission. Every city has formulated its projects and solutions tailored to its specific requirements.

Allahabad High Court worried about conversion

Allahabad High Court has made important comments regarding conversion. Allahabad High Court has said that the illegal activity of conversion of people from other castes, including Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribal groups and economically poor persons, to Christianity is being done on a large scale in Uttar Pradesh. This should be stopped immediately. Along with this, the court also said that if the game of changing religion by luring continues, the majority population of the country will one day become a minority.

    Case in Allahabad High Court.

The case on which the Allahabad High Court has commented is from Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh. In the FIR, accused Kailash took Ramphal, the brother of complainant Ramkali Prajapati, a resident of Hamirpur, from Hamirpur to participate in a social function organized in Delhi. Many other people of Maudaha village were also taken to the social function and converted to Christianity.

Accused Kailash had promised the complainant that his mentally ill brother would be treated and he would be sent back to his native village within a week. When Ramkali asked accused Kailash why her brother had not returned after a week. She was concerned about his well-being. Moreover, she did not get any satisfactory answer to this from Kailash. Hence she filed a case against Kailash.

Enormous sums of money are being given to individuals who choose to convert.

The Additional Advocate General appearing on behalf of the State argued that by organizing such meetings, a large number of people are being converted to Christianity and huge amounts of money are being provided to them. Furthermore, he also cited various statements of witnesses before the Court. These witnesses stated that the accused Kailash was taking people from the village to convert them to Christianity. Moreover, for this work, they were being paid huge amounts of money.

Plead by the accused’s lawyer in Allahabad High Court

The accused’s lawyer argued before the court that the complainant’s brother Ramphal had not converted, nor he is a Christian. He had attended a Christian religion and welfare event along with several other individuals. The lawyer further said that during the investigation, the police had recorded statements of various persons, which cannot be relied upon at this stage given that accused Kailash has no role to play. Sonu Pastor was the one who was holding such a meeting and he has already been released on bail.

    Serious allegations on accused

Justice Rohit Ranjan Aggarwal heard the counsel for the parties involved in the case and perused the material on record. After this, Justice Rohit said in his decision that Article 25 of the Constitution of India provides for freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion. But it does not provide for conversion from one religion to another. The judgment said that the word ‘propaganda’ means to promote. But it does not mean converting a person from his religion to another religion.

In this case, the informant has made serious allegations against the accused. The allegation is that his brother was taken away from the village to participate in the welfare meeting organized in Delhi. Moreover, along with him, many people of the village were also taken there. They were converted into Christians.

Making a serious comment on the matter, the court said that if this process is allowed to continue, the majority population of this country will one day become a minority. Along with this, it was said that such religious gatherings should be stopped immediately where religious conversion is taking place. Moreover, such gatherings should be stopped where the citizens of India are being converted.

Justice Rohit said that this is against the constitutional mandate of Article 25 of the Indian Constitution. It does not provide activities for religious conversion. But only for freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion.

Allahabad High Court is worried about Illegal conversion activities taking place on a large scale

The court stated that it has noticed several cases of illegal conversion of people from other castes. The caste includes Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribal groups. Moreover, economically poor persons are converted to Christianity. Furthermore, the conversion is taking place on a large scale in Uttar Pradesh.

The court said that it has prima facie found that the accused is not entitled to bail. Therefore, the bail plea of the accused involved in this case is rejected.

Faceless management for GST administration implemented.

Faceless management for GST administration is implemented in Rajasthan. Thus Rajasthan becomes the first state in the country to implement faceless management for the administration of GST works.  Under this scheme, tax assessments are conducted online, eliminating physical interfaces between the taxpayer and the tax officer.

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ms Diya Kumari announced point number 60 (VI) of the Vote on Account speech for the financial year 2024-2025. This announcement is to ensure better adherence to the principle of clean and transparent administration. Now the work of commercial tax and excise departments will be phased out. Moreover, arrangements for faceless management will be made.

With this view in mind, online integrated tax management, integrated excise management system and Jan Aadhaar wallet will be further strengthened and expanded in the state.  In compliance with this announcement, an order has been issued to implement faceless management in phases for GST-related work in the Commercial Tax Department.

    Arrangements done for faceless management

Rajasthan is the country’s first state to make this arrangement. This system has been implemented as per the decision-making system of the Income Tax Department. Furthermore, by this system ideals of ‘Anywhere Registry’ are implemented by the Registration and Stamp Department.

This order pertains to the Goods and Services Tax within the Commercial Tax Department. It aims to ensure an equal distribution of taxpayers based on administrative areas. Furthermore, it balances the workload of personnel and ensures proper and proportionate division of work. Moreover, it addresses interruptions in work performance due to vacancies, long-term holidays, and other administrative factors. To ensure non-arrival and neutral and impartial work-related objectivity, the new faceless/randomized system has been implemented in a phased manner. It is also proposed that the entire work system will be developed in the newly proposed Integrated Tax Management System.

This change will bring work balance, quick execution and procedural transparency in tax administration. With this faceless management system, pending cases of taxpayers will be heard and resolved quickly and with transparency.
